AFG has spent years establishing relationships with hospitals in Conakry and surrounding areas to aid and alleviate the over-taxed medical facilities and provide timely intervention in the treatment of various diseases that plague the Guinean population.

We have entered into partnerships with the Guinean government as well as other private organizations with the intention of forming strategies and putting together programs that will enable health care professionals to diagnose and treat their patients.

In July 2007, Mrs. Bébé Sylla, AFG’s Health Program Director, visited several areas in the country to conduct a needs assessment. From this visit and consequent evaluation, we have determined that AFG will improve the Guinean medical sector by:

  • Improving and providing access to laboratory services
  • Supporting existing disease prevention and treatment initiatives
  • Facilitating and implementing new medical treatment projects

  • AFG needs your help! We depend on contributions from foundations, companies and individuals to continue our work in Guinea.

    Our primary goal is to assist hospitals and health centers in Guinea who care for the welfare of the Guinean population. We do this by providing medical aid, improving and upgrading existing infrastructure in health facilities and implementing disease prevention and treatment programs.

    We also aim to improve the overall quality of life of the population by supporting and promoting economic growth and technical development.
